Union Station Mirror Maze – St. Louis, MissouriOn March 6, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
Hi guys. Today we are at Union Station. We were here a few weeks ago for the opening of the Saint Louis Wheel. They recently announced that the Saint Louis Aquarium is opening on December 25, which is Christmas Day. We’re so excited about the Saint Louis Aquarium opening finally, and hopefully we can check that out really soon. We’re going to go check out the Mirror Maze and see what else we can see. Come with us. Looks like they got the tram all ready to go for the Saint Louis Aquarium. Nice tram. It’s got some dolphins and some fish on the side. Oh and the otters. It’s always such a lively atmosphere down here. [carnival music] Going in the mirror maze. Whoa. Everything looks like [inaudible]. This is hard. Ack. Okay. Oh there’s the door closing. There it goes. I think I see something over there. Oh my gosh I see your hand. Okay try going that way. This way? Yeah. Remember don’t clunk yourself. There’s a mirror. Okay. Is this a real one? This is real I think. That one’s real, are you sure? Yes. I feel it. Try. [kiosk stuttering] So we went through a, uh, curtain and we came into this, this room. This is really cool. I think this is inventions from the 1904 World’s Fair. Okay. Whoa. I already plugged it in. The prong, we plug it in. Hit the green button. Ah, a couple bugs to be worked out. [kiosk playing] This is, I guess this is how you see if it’s a mirror or not. You gotta use your arm here. Are we leaving? Yes. I was learning about the…okay. [carnival music] It’s hard to tell. Ah-ha, I found a way to tell. What? There’s no reflection here. That is, I think I’m on to Blue’s Clues. Until I smack my nose into something. Oh. It’s right there, go through the thing Abi. Nope. I thought that was the real you. Wait. Whoa we’re in another area here. Fair food! Whoa ice cream. Do you smell that smell? What? It gives out smells. What? It makes the room… Yeah, I smell popcorn but it’s a weird. It’s a weird blend. Whoa, so it’s like smell – o – vision. Uh-oh. Let’s go. Eww. Whoa. Let’s go. That is really cool. It’s a mixture. Garlic. [kiosk stuttering] So it’s like smell – o – vision. It makes the whole room smell like whatever food you press. Don’t press the garlic one, it smells kinda funny. Popcorn. We got popcorn. Popcorn is better than whatever that other one was. We need cotton candy or ice cream. No whammies. Oh cotton candy. Cotton candy? Smells really good but tastes like… Don’t taste it? No, I don’t like the taste of cotton candy but I like the smell. Ohhh. Does not smell like waffle cone. Oh man. Whammy. Iced tea. Yes! You smell it? Daddy, give it a smell. Oh I smell it. Yep, that’s iced tea. Should be the last one. Peanut butter. Yay. Whose smelling? Yep, peanut butter. Eww. It’s peanut butter but it has a weird, fake scent to it. Other than the technical difficulty, that’s pretty neat. Whoa. Ope, did you find something? Oh yeah. What is it? Tug of war. Tug of War! 1904 World’s Fair Summer Olympics. Let me see this real quick, ready? I won first place. You got first place? How cool. Guess we are having technical difficulties again? Technical difficulties. Hmmm. Ohh, what are in now? I don’t know if we’re supposed to do anything here. We got all kinds of doors. All right, so Abi pulled the sign here. Want to do it again? No! [loud horn] I’ll try, let’s see. Somebody try. Okay. [glass breaking] Whoa that was the window, sorry. Oh TNT. I’m not doing TNT. I will. [explosion] Big explosion. Oh, it’s coming off the hinges. [moo sounds] Oh boy, we got a cow. [alarm bells] Ope, I found out the code. Oh you did? Yep, the alarm is going off. Okay, you ready? This one is kinda hard. [gunfire] Locked, locked, locked. Coming off. Locked, locked. What’s this one? Want to try this one? It’s a fish tank. I think it’s just into the aquarium. Oh, yep, this door is just into the aquarium like Mom said. Anybody there? No. Well let’s see what this one says. This one says exit. Let’s try this one. Hypnotize. [canned laughter and whoopee cushion noises] Okay. Ready Daddy? Oh my gosh. Abi! Abi. This is a funny room. Oh boy. Mommy! Daddy, your turn. All righty. Let’s see. What did I eat today? Chili. What’s this one? That was beans. Hall of Laughter. All right, what’s behind the door? Look to your right. Oh my goodness. This is a wind room. Whoa. [blowing air] That’s cool. You feel wind by your feet. Spoiler alert. Whoa we got a cartoon floor. I’m dancing, I’m dancing. What – oh no! If you guys watched the haunted corn maze, we’ve dealt with one of these before. Here we go again. Let’s see. Okay. You kinda just have to go in between these things. Oh, yep. Oh yeah, this is something else. Yep. Oh I think we made it. Woo-hoo. But my hair. So, like, first impressions after getting done with the mirror maze. It was really cool. It was very, like very interactive. They had some nice visuals going on in there. They had, like, the smell – o – vision. They kind of got like all your senses enticed in one go around. That was really cool. I liked it a lot. So what is your first impressions? Really cool. It was fun, yeah. Pretty neat. But my hair. Yeah we got it down now. A little static-y. So we made it into the gift shop, did we? Yes. See what kind of goodies they have, huh? They have a little bitty notebook for your backpack or for your keys. And you can actually write in it. That is so cool. It’s got little fish on there, I guess? Mm-hmm. And look… Oh neat, and some little charms? I betcha I know what they say. Saint Louis Aquarium. No they don’t say that, only that one. Oh that’s neat. Some reusable straws. Oh that’s cool. Duck shark. Oh my gosh. That’s crazy. Whoa. Shark teeth. Duh-huh. Duh-uh. I never seen those before. What? The company upcycles wine and beer, spirit bottles into candles with aromas inspired by what used to be in them. Like margarita. Kind of margarita-ish? Oh the blue lobster. Lord Stanley. Daddy look. Whoa. Otter this world. Whoa. Oh my goodness. Oh wow, he is big. All right, let’s go put him back. Look how tall he is. He’s taller than me. Taller than you! Look at the ground. Whoa. So this is a touch screen board that has all the activities here at Union Station. It’s right inside the doors here. That is cool. Never know what you’re going to see down
here, huh? That playground is shaped like a train. Really? What! It is a train. Here is the mini-golf course they put down here. It’s kind of plain. Yeah. Not much to it, really. So the mirror maze was pretty fun. There was a few of those things that weren’t quite working as intended. Which is a little, being this early on, they
just opened a few weeks ago. Yeah. So with things not working quite right, it’s
a little concerning but it was really nicely done up. Yeah. I liked the colors and the decorations. Definitely, definitely. Some of the videos were stuttering pretty bad. Mm-hmm. I don’t know if maybe that could be something that could be fixed. But it kind of took you out of the surreal moment you were in whenever you had a scientist kind of like [glitching]. Yeah. And it’s $8 a person, it’s not too bad. It was pretty cool. Some things could be improved on, but you know, it’s early on. Maybe they’ll get the bugs worked out. Thank you guys so much for joining us here
at Union Station in Saint Louis, Missouri. We had a lot of fun, we hope you did too. Yes, if you like our video go ahead and give us a big thumbs up. We’re going to be back here real soon for the opening of the Saint Louis Aquarium. That’ll be fun. That’ll be a lot of fun. Super excited for that. Very excited. So go ahead and click on that subscribe button and ring that notification bell. All aboard! Toot-toot. Bye!
