Salvation Army Sports Camps Inspire Team Building
On August 28, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
We want kids to build a little confidence
inside a certain discipline whether its basketball, soccer or hockey so that when there’s teams
to try out for in their school that they have that confidence.
Its important that we do camps like this because it gives kids an opportunity to get out of
the city and just experience things that they never get to otherwise.
Without camps like this kids don’t get exposed to sport. They don’t get exposed to having
opportunities to be on a team, to win a medal, to get a trophy. Those kinds of things. We have brought a number of campers up here
that are sponsored who would never have the experience without our help. It was so much fun. I had the best week I’ve
ever had in a long time. The relationships that they build last a lifetime. Without sport I probably wouldn’t be holding a basketball standing on a court with The Salvation Army trying to do the same thing for kids who are
like me.
