Saaten-Union: Haferkongress 2020 | Interview Leandro Burguete, CEO Haferkater GmbH, BerlinOn February 24, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
SAATEN-UNION – Breeding is the future My name is Leandro Burguete and I am
from the company Haferkater. We were invited today by the SAATEN-UNION to talk about our company, which sells take-away porridge at train stations.
Porridge – the German porridge with Oat cooked – and that’s why it’s the subject of the
Oat Convention today. And today we wanted to tell how we
market oats as a young company. We sell the porridge in the Haferkater shops
for take away for the customer, who wants an alternative breakfast.
And it was interesting for us to be here because there are very many people in the industry
that have a lot of experience and to whom we show our perspective
how we interpret oats as modern new product and at the same time
take the traditional, to have a great product for the
end customers. Question: Why oats? That’s a good question.
You could also say if it’s supposed to be hip then please with quinoa as a base, because
quinoa porridge is also available. It is important to us that we don’t have a hip product, but one that actually is very German – and that is the porridge.
It has always existed, everyone knows it. And the consumer wants to have something tasty,
but it also has to be inexpensive. And oats are great because they are an easily available raw material. They are known to be
healthy and you can do the same delicious porridge like with
everything else. SAATEN-UNION – Breeding is the future
