Purdue University Krannert – TeamworkOn October 10, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
[MUSIC] Krannert functions with the cohort model
where you are in a team working together on the projects. It’s great cuz we’re all working
together academically, but we also come form varied backgrounds.
>>You’re really learning from each other. So you are tacking these problems, so
you start to throw out these ideas, and you start to realize where’re
these ideas coming from. And most of them are just
perspectives of different students from all around the world.
>>One of the things that I’ve noted, that’s helped me a lot is that
I’ve gotten used to working with extremely diverse teams. So for instance the first few
modules you’re working not only with people that are not necessarily MBAs. But you’re also working with
people that come from all sorts of different countries, cultures, and people
with all sorts of different backgrounds. And that really helps you
become more well rounded, if you will.
>>One of the values of working in the cohort is that you really learn
to work cross functionally with people from different parts of your team.
>>During my time here, Krannert has really prepared
me to work cross-functionally when I’m out in the business world and
I begin my career. Because I am able to communicate
with people in supply chain, people in accounting,
people in marketing, and HR. I think this has just been
a great opportunity for me in terms of learning how to
communicate cross-functionally, cross-culturally, and has really made
me a better professional as well. [MUSIC]
