Obscene: Alt Fashion Trade Fair Report – Part I (German with English Subtitles)On March 18, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
Hi everyone, welcome to this new video at the Obscene trade fair in Germany. And since it’s in Germany, I’m going to switch to German now. Hi again, I’m in Sindelfingen near Stuttgart at
the Obscene Fair, and I invite you to come along with me for a bit. I’m here at the Inner Sanctum booth with Max, from Hamburg. – Welcome, first of all. Thank you. – Nice to have you here. – For how long are you making latex clothes? Inner Sanctum exists for 26 years, I’m doing it for 13 years now… We create made-to-measure, ready-made, custom-made clothes, actually everything you dream of or can think of. Except for creases, because we’re not ironing but glueing the garments. – Ok, I’m going to let you pick something and then I’ll try it on. And? Awesome! Yes cool, I like the color! Yes, that’s “Plum”. Suits you, definitely a Go!
Also, it fits. You can take it right away! – I’ll take you at your word! – Then the camera man has to pay for it. Fits very good! This is layering style… … suitable for Oktoberfest.
– For the Oktoberfest, haha, all right! Or here, this is our bestseller, it’s matching
for Butler or bunny costumes, also with matching wrist cuffs. So, let’s test it!
– Thank you very much. Yes that looks very chic! – And the design is patented by you? Yes, exactly, everything is. Indeed very cool. Now I need only a mirror!? – A mirror! I am at the Fernando Berlin booth, they make shoes and boots… and I’m super excited because I’ve seen these boots on a lot of trade shows so far. And now I have the opportunity to try some of them. I’m getting my measurements taken, which is also the first time ever that someone measures my legs, haha. I just realise that this foot is slightly bigger than the other one. Always filmen the heel! – What about the heel!? When photographing boots, always take care that you see the heel, that’s very important! Ah yes, these ones are way more comfortable at the toes! I do not know if you know this, there’s a special technique for this kind of hook lacing… No … – The one-finger-technique or rather the one-handed-technique. – Oh cool! I did not know that one so far!
It’s indeed very easy then! Saves a lot of time! And you can still smoke a cigarette then, if you want to. So these boots are really comfortable, and they fit, and that lacing technique is a super cool idea, which I have to remember for using at home. And the boots are really good looking! Next to me is Ferdinand, owner of Fernando Berlin. – Hi! He just put me into these ultra great boots … How did you get into the whole shoe business anyway? – Uh, that’s a long story … Summarised very briefly: I like boots and wanted to do something with beautiful boots for a living… Then a few things came together … I’ve studied history … and I had to watch out for my future anyway. – Oh, a humanities scholar, yes! – Yes, indeed!… So I had to look after me and where to go job-wise. And I thought: Why shouldn’t I do something that I love to do and that I enjoy, being self-employed … Fernando Berlin exists for ten years, and for three years, we have our own production in Portugal. Our very own small shoe factory … It all started as an experiment with three models and then… … it kind of escalated. I have been keeping an eye on that jacket for quite a long time… and I think I’ll just try it on now! It’s not ideal on top of the dress. But it’s so cool! I like! I’ve been handed a very translucent dress just now… Coat! – Oh sorry, a coat! Well, one can also see it as a dress. 😉 Anyway, I’m excited about the fit and the look of it, let’s do this! So I still think, this is a dress! : P But it is definitely very nice and fluffy!
