Mino quit trainee because of friendship with P.O [Happy Together/2019.10.24]On February 4, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
So P.O, we know that you and MINO were friends even in school, but did you want to debut on the same team too? While dreaming of becoming rappers, we agreed to debut in the same team as well. It was our goal to both be members of Block B. Back then, the head of the agency was Rhymer. He called the shots. MINO and I were a set, but Rhymer didn’t think I was good. – MINO… / – So Rhymer thought that. – He only liked MINO. / – Right. He sat us both down and told MINO they should keep working hard together while he told me that it was my last day. – What? / – Oh, dear. But then MINO said that this would be his last day too. Hearing that – touched me deeply. / – Of course. I couldn’t believe he had actually said that. Then we came home and I spent the night at MINO’s place. I couldn’t sleep though – because I was so sorry. / – Of course. In the middle of the night, I woke MINO’s parents up – and told them what had happened. / – You’re kind. I also added that he should go back as a trainee without me. So MINO went back as a trainee and I joined the agency again about a year or two after. I can’t believe you woke his parents up. – He’s too sweet. / – I felt so bad. Goodness. How did his parents react? I don’t think they heard me properly. “What on earth is he saying?” “Okay, we get it, so go back to bed.” That’s what they were like. – That was so sweet of him though. / – Of course. So have you met Rhymer since then? Yes, of course. – Did he say anything? / – I went to his wedding too. He said that he was proud of how well we’ve been doing. He told us to share this story. It’s not just Rhymer though. Many heads of agencies miss their chances to sign on a future celebrity. Park Jinyoung lost his chance with IU and Hyolin. – That’s how it is. / – That’s life. – We all have our destined paths. / – Right. Some relationships just aren’t meant to be. I hear that P.O kissed the cheek of a very stern teacher in high school. He was my homeroom teacher for three years and I didn’t want to say a normal goodbye. – He’s sweet. / – I kissed him on the forehead. He’s slightly bald, you see. Here’s a photo. – What? / – I don’t think he liked it. He hated it. It’s evident in his expression. It’s not easy to do that to your own father. Of course not. – I can’t believe you even thought of that. / – Right. Then he probably punched me in the gut. He punched me right after the kiss. He delivered an uppercut.
