Marcia Clark’s Relationship with Chris DardenOn November 10, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
20 years after the world watched
every second of the OJ Simpson trial, our next guest is back in the spotlight
because of the FX mini series, The People Versus OJ Simpson,
I hope you all are watching, it’s so good. Please welcome Marsha Clark. When you heard they where going to
do this, what were your thoughts?>>No.
[LAUGH]>>[LAUGH]>>Please don’t do this. Please.
And all I could think of was
please something happen. Don’t let it happen and I just didn’t
want to relive the nightmare of it.>>Of course.
>>Of that terrible experience. Then I heard, and I thought,
there’s a chance. You know,
Hollywood thinks we cancelled a lot.>>Yeah.
>>So I thought, yeah, that’ll go away. And then I heard Ryan Murphy signed on. Okay, it’s happening. He’s brilliant, he does, you know,
I mean, it’s gonna happen. At least it’s going to be quality, right? Then I thought, but still, I don’t know,
what’s gonna end up, you know. And then I heard Sarah Paulson
is going to play me and I went, my God, it’s such an honor,
she’s such a phenomenal, brilliant talent. [CROSSTALK]
>>Do you think she’s doing a great job?>>Yes.
>>She’s doing a great job.>>Amazing.
>>And they’re pretty much getting
everything right, right?>>Yeah, yes.>>It’s pretty close to what happened?>>Yes.>>And you’re getting, just so you know,
and I’m sure you do know this. You’re treated so badly. And I don’t think they would ever treat
a man the way they were treating you. You were treated so badly and
there’s a tweet here. Is it me or does the world
owe Marcia Clark an apology? Next tweet is Marcia Clark was
treated horrible during the OJ trial, Marsha is you read this all I can say
is I’m sorry and you didn’t deserve it. It’s a shame how Marcia Clark was
treated sadly that wasn’t just for TV.>>I didn’t know that.>>You’re a hero now,
I mean people are looking at you as.>>[APPLAUSE]
>>You didn’t know that? And another thing you and no one never really knew that
there was some kind of romance. It seemed like, and
I know your not gonna confirm this, or, it seemed like you all had a relationship. And I don’t know if it
ever went anywhere but it seemed like he was in love with you. I mean, I don’t know how you felt about
him but he seemed to be in love with you.>>It didn’t seem that way to me. [LAUGH]
>>You didn’t feel that?>>No, I did not. We were really partners,
we were trench mates. I mean he wasn’t my second chair. You know, a lot of times when you
prosecute you have a senior prosecutor and a junior prosecutor. It wasn’t like that we were co-council and
he was my partner and it was a really you know, I can’t tell you
how important it was to have him there.>>He was-
>>You’re smiling.>>I’m smiling because, did you all make out?>>[LAUGH]
>>We danced. [LAUGH]>>I know. In the series that we saw, you know, you almost made out, but
then you didn’t make out. But like in real life, you made out?>>[LAUGH]
We did take a trip to the bay area.>>Yeah.
>>Yeah.>>See, you made out?>>[LAUGH] This is going well.>>Did you ever OJ after
the trial is over?>>I did.>>You did?
>>I did.>>In what way?>>It was vert weird. So, remember the case in Las Vegas?>>Yes,
when he was stealing something, or?>>Yeah, stealing sports memorabilia
that had belonged to him, but was taken away from him.>>Right.>>They were selling it,
some sports dealers, and so he got busted for robbery and kidnapping,
etcetera, and so I covered the trial for Entertainment Tonight and we were sitting
in the cafeteria with the crew and nobody was in custody, everybody’s
out floating around an d so was he. And so I’m sitting there, and
he comes by, and he goes by the table. Ms. Clark, Mr. Simpson. [LAUGH]
>>And that was that?>>That was that.>>Wow.
>>That was that.>>That’s amazing.>>Yeah.
>>Yeah, I guess he just felt like he was invincible, right? He just felt like he could get away
with anything if he got away with that.>>Well, yeah.>>Yeah.
