“Madden ’08”: Building a Team Roster : “Madden ’08”: Coaching & Front Office FeaturesOn September 16, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
Madden 08 is a registered trademark of EA
Games, a company in which I have no affiliation. The last thing I’m going to show you is just
some things you might want to keep in mind going in to the new season. Since we’ve already
re-ordered our depth charts. The season has started. If you hit schedule, the next thing
that is going to come up is your first pre-season game. But just some things I want to show
you. I’m in the main screen here, if I go to front office mode and go to finance, I
can find out who’s in a contract here. Now what a contract here means is that this is
that player’s last year on contract. They, after this season they are going to be free
agents if I don’t re-sign them. So it’s really nice to know who you have coming up, that’s
coming on contract. If they don’t play well, obviously you will cut them but you’re going
to want to look at them a little bit harder because that’s going to, how well they play
this year and how much more their rating goes up is going to dictate how much money you’re
going to give them next time you go to the off season menu that we just went through.
So it’s a really nice thing to look at. You can also look at other things like your highest
paid players. Jared Allen, the Defensive End, the young guy, I just gave him a huge contract,
is my highest paid player. So you can look at all different kinds of things. These are
all the different things you can look for in the front office mode. You can’t change
anything but you can look at where all your money is going and how much your spending
on, and on what. The other thing I want to show you is just the coaching. You can go
to coaching and scheme here and since I have a really good running back, I want to run
a lot more and I’m going to click left so that, that’ll dictate that I want to run more.
If I were to simulate any games, if you simulate games this is going to be how much Run/Pass,
all the different things you list here are. So I want to run a lot more when I simulate
because I have a really good Running Back. I want to give as many carries as I can to
Running Back 1. You’ll see it’s all the way up and I’m going to go down here and since
I just got a scrambling Quarterback, I want to, I want to get, I want him to be a scrambler.
I’m probably going to want to run a lot more with him. So those are some things you’re
going to change depending on your personnel and since I just got that scrambling Quarterback,
we’re going to up his scrambling over here. Those are just some things you want to keep
in mind going in to the new year but you should be ready. That’s all you’ve got to do for
the off season menu, it’s not as daunting as it may seem and just have a lot of fun.
