Let’s share, we’re stronger togetherOn February 2, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
Just chill mate, it’ll be cool.
You might be a movie star after this. What did I do to support you? I just was a
friend I saw that you know you were you weren’t you weren’t talking to the
group you were you were keeping to yourself
you were staying quiet you know you you weren’t turning up to footy training I
know you were you know a little bit late sometimes and you just looked you looked sad, you looked down. So I reached out to you. You made it easier for me because you went to our footy sessions. Told us about your story. Me telling my story did that help you? It made me feel comfortable. That’s the most important thing because when we’re having these tough times we don’t want to talk about them, but if we try and
make the space as safe as possible that’s going to make it a little easier
to have that conversation. Like when we’re feeling down, we go hunting. Sit around the fire and talk to each other. When we talk, we’re just sharing it’s as important when we share in our good times that we share our tough times as well because the only
way we get out of these tough times is by sharing and talking
and that’s culturally what we’ve always done. So what did you say then? It’s ok to ask other people for help. That was easy huh?
