Happy to be together on Happy Together! Hello. Today we’re having a Hyeja casting special. It’s a new word. – It’s a good thing. / – Sufficient or generous. The opposite meaning is being like Myungsoo. Right. That’s the total opposite. A lot worse than you expected. Being like Myungsoo is a really bad thing. I read the comments too. We called today a Hyeja casting special. Let’s see how amazing the casting is. Come on out! Let’s see who we have! Han Chaeyoung! It’s the Barbie doll. Jin Jihee! Yoo Yeonseok! And Oh Manseok too! Come this way. She looks more like a doll than a Barbie doll. However, if you get to know her, she can be silly. All program directors want her on their show. She’s a new star in variety shows. Han Chaeyoung! A master at captivating women with his eyes. He’s a very experienced actor as well. Korea’s winking man. Yoo Yeonseok! The writers are going nuts. (Thank you) Whenever he does a performance he sells out all his shows. It’s actor Oh Manseok! The originator of the catchphrase smelly butthole. Now she’s so innocent and pure. She’s a woman now. Jin Jihee! Jin Jihee! We mentioned this is the Hyeja special. We have many questions for you all because these aren’t guests we get often. That’s why we need to suck them dry. Get them to reveal all. – Myungsoo, you introduced Chaeyoung. / – Yes. They call you a fledgling variety show star now. They like me more than I expected. Right. That’s why I’m just enjoying myself. A variety show star born from KBS. I debuted as an idol. How was it being a singer, Chaeyoung? Way harder than I thought. I’m not much of a singer or dancer. Before I did “Sisters’ Slam Dunk” people used to see me as a cold person. You did give off that vibe. You’re hard to approach. I did hear that a lot. If I don’t speak or smile… – They think I’m angry. / – You do look like that. So I never knew I’d be able to do that show. We shot our own music video at a restaurant. I sang my part sticking my head out of a grill. The line is, “I feel like a fish in water.” ♪ I feel like a fish in water ♪ (The birth of a hilarious scene) ♪ I feel like a fish in water ♪ I go like that. And Hong Jinyoung feeds me water with a spoon. I had dozens of cameras on me while I slept. They shot me sleeping with my mouth open. You have a big mouth too. You can see it all inside. The director saw your throat. It’s not like you can sleep with your mouth shut. So I started not caring about that stuff. You got used to it. And the last episode was really surprising. We promised to dance in public. The change within myself really surprised me. How so? The old me would’ve been too shy… “Oh, no! I can’t do this!” But I smiled and really enjoyed myself. I waved to all the reporters. (Relaxed) (Han Chaeyoung dances in hanbok for the Unnies) I thanked the people passing by. “It’s really me!” I had no idea. Chaeyoung seems a lot more cheerful than when she was here last time. Isn’t it fun to be funny? What’s amazing about doing variety shows is that I found myself doing everything I was told to do. This is his first time on the show. It’s Yoo Yeonseok. (His first time on a KBS variety show) Yeonseok, I saw that you said hello to Hyunkyung. Do you know each other? We did a movie together around 7 years ago. It’s called “Hoya.” We wear school uniforms. How was working with Yeonseok? Yeonseok is very chatty. He really talks a lot. I’m a cheerful guy. I wanted to be chummy with all the actors and staff. And it was my first leading role. That’s why I was more determined. So I joked around with Hyunkyung a lot. How was Hyunkyung back then? I thought she’d be cheerful but she’s very calm when she works. She stays at home a lot too. She’s a homebody. It’s been like 10 years. She’s changed a lot. I was like that back then. I saw that she’s not like that on this show. She goes to all the parties now. I go out a lot now. Yeonseok, you became popular with “Reply 1994.” How was it? I debuted in 2003 with “Oldboy.” Yoo Jitae as a kid! So that was Yeonseok. He had a shaved head. He held onto Yun Jinseo. 9 years later I did “Reply 1994.” People loved my role as Chilbong. They went nuts. I haven’t changed much since then, but they expect a lot more out of me. People look at me differently. It used to pressure me a lot. Female students think of him when they think of Yonsei University. But in reality, there are a lot of guys like me. He’s a college campus stud. I was like a ghost when I was a student. I practically lived at the theater for my major. I bet you were hit on a lot. I bet you were very popular. Not so much when I was a student. But I did date someone in school. So you were a campus couple. You kind of changed the subject there. And he’s been blowing up since “Reply 1994.” He did “Gu Family Book,” “Warm and Cozy,” “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim.” (Source: SBS) They were all hits. And you’ve been doing musicals, variety shows and movies too. Chaeyoung, isn’t this pretty remarkable? Yes, he’d better be happy. She sounded angry. I’m sorry but your eyes seem out of focus. Who are you looking at? She feels bad now. – I am happy. / – That’s great for you. – No whites in her eyes. / – Her face seems… I would’ve gotten yelled at if I wasn’t happy. She would’ve snapped at you. “Better be happy.” Yeonseok, you’re known as the milk man and the master of looks. What does milk man mean? I guess it means I’m gentle. It kind of puts pressure on me. I’m really cheerful around my friends. Which of these related terms do you like? I like being called the master of looks. These days… I’ve been called the master of kissing. You really like being called a master. Is there a tip on how you become a kissing master? Do you have some tips other actors don’t know? A lot of actors do kissing scenes for shoots. It’s hard to make it look beautiful on screen. I watched him from the side. We look at the angles. His lips look so nice when he kisses. If you get him from the side, his lips really make you want to kiss him. Saeho, what are you looking at. His lips. If the actors are too into the scene when they kiss, it doesn’t look so great on camera. But if I treat it like an action scene… Like it’s choreographed… That makes it look better on camera. For action, I throw some punches, he dodges, I kick… We come up with a routine. It’s just like that. I turn her head this way… This is like a serious lecture. I plan the angles ahead of time. If we plan that big picture we don’t struggle with the scene. We can focus and it looks nicer. (Source: SBS) I heard you brought wine to prepare for your kissing scene with Seo Hyunjin. Why would you need wine to plan the moves? To set the mood? This is my own tip for shooting kissing scenes. I bring a bottle of wine. I have a drink with the actress. When I shot the kissing scene with Hyunjin, it was the first or second day of shooting. We did the script reading before that… So you drink wine and kiss while you’re tipsy? Not really… It’s pretty silly for an actor to bring wine to shoot a kissing scene. People just laughed in disbelief. How did Hyunjin react? She couldn’t believe it. “You brought wine to shoot a kissing scene?” “Why’d you bring this?” Things got a bit sweeter as we kept talking. Let’s look back at some of Yeonseok’s roles. Handsome chef, handsome senior, handsome doctor. He played a lot of handsome guys. That’s why he has many female fans. But I heard there’s a fan of Yeonseok here. Who is it? One of our staff members? It’s Jihee. Really? (Thanks) I’m a fan of Yeonseok. When he played Chilbong on “Reply 1994” he played a handsome guy. I loved him as a handsome baseball player. He played a villain in “A Werewolf Boy.” So he was in that one too. His looks were so radiant. He’d light up the movie theater. And he has broad shoulders. Girls really like that. I guess I should work out my shoulders more. A bag would never slip off those shoulders. Broad shoulders and a master kisser. You made appearances with Song Joongki. Were you every envious of him? I played a villain that torments Joongki and Park Boyoung. Many people were there for the screening. Around 5,000 people in the audience. After screening the movie in front of all those people they found out we were in the audience as well. So the audience clapped a lot. Joongki was thankful so he waved. Boyoung also waved. I was in the movie too, so I also waved. They all pointed at me. “That jerk… It’s all his fault…” Since he played a villain. It can make things tense. You were only acting as a villain. Movie theaters are quiet. The movie just ended so the emotions were still raw. They only said that because your acting was great. But you waved with that cheerful smile. It was just a movie. It’d be funny if you apologized after the movie. Right. Apologizing would be strange. Jihee, you chose Yeonseok as the actor you most want to work with. My ideal type is a dreamy college guy. That’s me. They don’t exist. You’ll see a lot of guys like me. We’re shattering her dreams. – “Want to get some coffee?” / – Many guys like him. A lot of guys like me in college. That’s not good. (Sorry we shattered your dream) So I think I’d be really happy when we shoot together later. I’d love to do a shoot with her. I never imagined she’d get so pretty. I remember her smelly butthole days. I was shocked seeing her on TV a year or two ago. – She looks so mature now. / – Thank you. Yoo Yeonseok is a name that girls like.
