Improvisation Training is Real Team BuildingOn August 19, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
Your team is way more awesome than you think. take this guy, he’s a jerk right Cheryl? Right. And I think it’s safe to
say we’re all jerks in our own way and we’re so much more than that. Yeah. People are people. I’m a person, i’m also a person. Me too, and there’s nothing you
can do about it. What if you could put even the jerkiness of the jerk to work
on behalf of the team? A jerk strengths include assertiveness, honesty. What? It’s
true you know and procrastinators they can prevent wasted effort on initiatives
that get scrapped before they launch. And the wallflower rarely misses a beat. Legit.
Enough talk let me show you something. What are you doing? I’m making sure they work hard. They’re working hard, you got that, and you got hate, too, by the way and
a lousy work product to boot. Good job. What happens when you stop drumming?
Ignite the genius of your team and see just how hard people will work even
without a drum. People properly ignited are naturally engaged and self-motivated.
You need responsive teams collaborating creatively to achieve results making the
best of their strengths and covering each other’s weaknesses. That’s what you
need. what you don’t need is this. I’m working hard. I’m also working hard. Team building sucks. You’re right Cheryl team building can suck. It can. but real team building is
not a one and done activity. It’s not enforced trust. It’s the result of
working well together over time that’s why The Yes Works trains teams in tools
and techniques of improvisation so teams can build themselves day in and day out
by working well together to get the business results they need.
Our improvisation training is not wing – it 101. It’s not positivity training
“improvability” is practical preparation and should be your company’s competitive
advantage people are people and people drive results make work good
