Improv: Building Ideas With the Yes, and Principle : Improv: Blind Offer Demo
On August 31, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
We’re talking about yes and, how to make offers,
accept offers and build on those offers with something connected. And there’s all kinds
of offers you can make. Right now I want to focus on a special kind of offer called a
blind offer. This is when you imply there’s an offer there but you don’t define it one
hundred percent. You kind of leave space for your partner to help define that offer. So
it’s a little bit, you’re creating space for an offer but it’s kind of unknown what that
offer is until someone defines it. So Shannon is going to make a blind offer and then I’m
going to help define that blind offer. And this is a fun way to play, to kind of set
up you partner or pimp them or leave a little suspense going on. So here we go. Here I got
you this. Ah, a little baby duck. Thank you it’s so cute. Look at it. Okay, scene, good.
So ya there you go. That was a little baby duck inside that box. But Shannon did not
know that. He just gave me the box and let me fill in the blanks. So this is a specific
kind of offer, you don’t necessarily see this in every scene, but it’s something good to
be aware of. It’s called a blind offer. And that was just a blind offer demonstration.
