IKEA Co-worker video stories, NickOn October 8, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
My name is Nick I work in Shanghai, China, as a Kitchen & Dining Shopkeeper in the Baoshan store I have been working in that position for around two and a half years I think living in my place I feel very cozy and very warm I have all the functions I need. So it’s not very big,
but enough for me and my cat I grew up in a city very long away from Shanghai called Spring City I came to study in Shanghai in 2008.
My major is Computer & Technology, and not retail After graduation I joined Uniqlo and after leaving Uniqlo, I joined IKEA When I’m walking around my shop in the morning, I usually
talk with the interior designer about the room setting because the room setting is the most commercial place
where the customers meet our products So I will check the situation with her.
Is it commercial enough? Is it clean enough? Is it inspirational enough for the customers when meeting the products? So we go around the shop and take a look at each room setting When I meet the customers, I think my responsibility
is to make sure they find the products they want and the key point is that they understand their needs so I will keep asking some questions to the customer Our vision is to make a better life for the many people, so I think
Shopkeeper is a key role to make this vision come true In IKEA we offer you many roles for your future I could sell kitchens with no kitchen background – I think that is IKEA
helping me make my dream come true by trust and giving me the possibility My dream of working in IKEA is to become an IKEA store manager because I think opening a blue box or running
a blue box would be a fantastic job in my life That is my dream
