Group Exercises – Values #74On August 9, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
During the exercises the team sits in a circle. Neccecities for this exercise. Blank note cards two times the number of participants and a pen. Ask the participants what they think is the most important value when it comes to team work and why. The first participant says: For me the most important value when it comes to team work is: respect. I think it is the basic of a safe environment in which people can say what’s on their mind. You write the value respect down on a blank note card. The second participant says: for me it’s communication. If other people don’t understand what you mean, things got misunderstood and people’s feelings can be hurt. You also write communication down on a note card. Go on like this untill everyone has named a value and all the values are written down. On the remaining papers you write down all the participants names. Now you have two stacks of papers. You shuffle each stack of papers and turn them upside down. You point to the first participant who will pick a random card from the name stack. In this case he picks the card which says: Martin. Then he picks a card from the value stack, in this case: Humour. Now he will tell the the rest of the group how he thinks Martin relates to the value humour. I think Martin has a lot of humour which is really helpfull for the group spirit. After a serious meeting his humour can relavate things and make people feel comfortable. Now Martin draws a card from the name stack. In this case: Maria. And from the value stack picks he picks: reliability. I think Maria is a very reliable person when it comes to working with other people. You can trust her with all your secrets, but when it comes to being on time, her reliability can use some improvement, because sometimes she arrives a bit late at a meeting. Now Maria draws a name card and a value card. Go on like this just as long untill everyone has picked a name card and a value card and has told the team how those to relate to each other. The trainer guides the team and applies variations to the exercise. What kind of variations you can read below this video on Youtube. And haven’t you subscribed yet?
