Gifts from Graysen – Pay it Forward | Mountain America Credit UnionOn March 14, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
(slow music) He loved to be outside. Rachelle Jensen and her husband Danny are sharing memories of their son Graysen. He was killed in an accident in October of 2016 in West Valley City. After Graysen passed away, his family decided to donate his birthday toys to Primary Children’s Hospital. We knew we had to do something. [Narrator Ever since, they’ve continued that tradition. We brought 548 toys there last year. They call it, Gifts from Graysen. It made us feel good. It was healing for us. It was healing for our family members and friends. This is a milestone year for Graysen. This year, on March 31st, he’d be turning five. And the Jensen family is asking the public to get involved in their toy drive. There’s some emotions but this is the best way for us to be productive with those emotions. Along with collecting money and new toys, they’re throwing a birthday party to get as many donations as possible. Our goal is to just be able to bring the means of smiles and happiness to kids who don’t have it, in honor of Graysen. Rachelle says giving back to other children is another way to grieve. Sometimes it’s positive, giving back and smiling and doing things in their honor, that feels good. We want to help them get even more toys and celebrate Graysen. Time to meet Tony Rasmussen with Mountain America Credit Union. Oh, my god.
We have $500 from our Pay it Forward program as our way of saying thank you. Oh my gosh! (laughs) And supporting your great effort. Oh, thank you so much. You’re very welcome.
Thank you so much, that’s such a great surprise! (laughs)
