Getting accepted to Union was one of the best days of my lifeOn March 7, 2020 by Raul Dinwiddie
I worked for BNSF for about six years and I traveled frequently. My kids just had enough of it. They didn’t want me to leave anymore to go out of town. And so I decided to resign so that I could spend more time with my kids and college was my option. I’m from Lincoln, and I knew that— being in the Army and traveling around— that Lincoln was the place I wanted to raise my kids. And so this is where I wanted to go to college. I always wanted to go into biomedical science and I applied to Union and honestly I didn’t think I was going to get in. For one, I’m not an SDA and two, I heard it was pretty selective. I kind of waited around for a while and didn’t think I was going to get anything and the next you know I get the letter in the mail saying that I had been accepted to Union College. It was an awesome day I have to say, one of the best days I’ve had. Now that I’m here, some of the things I like are the class sizes. They’re small and intimate. I also enjoy the professors. They care about you, you’re not just a number. They understand that life happens and as a father and college student, that’s really important to me and I look forward to being able to spend the next couple of years here.
