From Shelton State to Mercedes Benz Team Leader before 21On October 14, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
I had a scholarship to play basketball but got injured so I was looking for an opportunity less amount of college as I could. I knew it was a program that was very appreciative as long as you maintain a 3.0 GPA. Mercedes paid for a part of your college. It was very relieving knowing that I could do this program and have a full-time job at the end. As long as you made the grades and pass your exams You were promised to be hired on as a full-time Mercedes employee And that means a lot because not a lot of careers offer that right now. You go to school Monday through Wednesday then you work Thursday, Friday, and sometimes Saturday if production is called to work that Saturday. While you’re in school Monday through Wednesday you get to make money. You disassemble a Mercedes engine and then put it back together. A transmission and then put it back together. Everything was hands on and you get a better understanding, and you know what all these electrical codes mean what they are trying to tell you And what’s the issue with the car. so you have a major advantage. I’m only 21 years old and at the position I”m in I’m very proud to be a 21 year old Team Leader At Mercedes Benz, that means a lot to me. I’m in charge of cars, sending them to repair. The biggest decision is looking at a car seeing what’s wrong with it and to go and say OK we can fix this car in this amount of time so we’ll send it line-side and fix it, make it a good car. If you want to make money, have a great job with great benefits And you want to provide for a family and just be successful a very young age then come to the program.
