Fiber Highway – Employee ExperiencesOn December 15, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
Fiber Highway is an ICT installation company. At the moment, we are working at Hamina. We have projects all around Finland. Currently, there are around twenty people working for Fiber Highway. Our main office is in Porvoo. I started working here about two years ago. I started as an ICT installer. I have worked my way up to a team leader. As a team leader, my responsibility is to make sure that our new employees – have the skills to do the tasks properly. The training we received was very important because I wasn’t that experienced in the field before. I come from Croatia. At Fiber Highway, we mostly use English. English language is important because we have a lot of people from different countries. It’s much wiser to speak a common language that everybody can understand. Our team gets a lot of support for our work. The only thing we have to do is ask. There are good opportunities to learn new things at Fiber Highway. We went abroad to Belgium to train splicing, panel installation and stuff like that. My colleagues are helpful, friendly, well-trained and the atmosphere is also friendly. They have become good friends of mine. When we have the time, usually on Fridays, we meet after work and play some sports. Football and floorball for example. Different kinds of sports depending on how many people are coming. We have sauna evenings regularly. I would like to invite open-minded, hardworking and honest people to come and work with us. People who are eager to learn. I recommend Fiber Highway as an employer because we have a friendly atmosphere. Our team leaders and project managers know what they are doing. They are well educated. We do fantastic quality. Team spirit is the correct word to describe the success of Fiber Highway.
