DIY Christmas Gifts/Treat Ideas (BEGINNER/EASY) for Friends, Family, Co-workers!On November 5, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
Hey Everyone! Welcome back to my channel, I’m joined with Janet today. Hey guys! and today we are making 5 different holiday themed snacks/gift ideas. All of these are super budget friendly and they don’t take very much time to make at all. What we have made today was some marshmallow reindeers, some oreo lollipops, some trail mix, pretzel melts, and last but not least, some snowman cookies! So if you guys want to find out how to make all of these, just keep watching! First we’re going to make these reindeer marshmallow pops. All you need are pretzels, lollipop sticks, (we’re using mini bamboo skewers), marshmallows, red jelly beans, mini chocolate chips, and some melting chocolate. To melt the chocolate, we boiled water over the stove and placed a bowl with melting chocolates inside. Once the chocolate’s melted, dip the marshmallow into the liquid chocolate and place them on top of two pretzels for the reindeer’s ears. For the reindeer’s eyes we used mini chocolate chips, and for the nose a red jelly bean. All you have to do now is let these dry! When I gift these I like to use small clear gift bags, or clear gift wrap. Pretzel melts are one of my favourite snacks to make for get togethers or gifts because they’re super easy to make and everybody loves them! Really simple. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lay out a bunch of pretzels. Next, place melting chocolates onto the pretzels. You can place 1-2 melting chocolates depending on how much chocolate you like. For me, 1 is the perfect amount because the chocolate doesn’t overpower the pretzel. Pop these into the oven for a few minutes at 200-300 degrees Fahrenheit and take them out when the chocolate has melted but is not completely liquid. Right when you take them out of the oven, place an M&M on top of each chocolate. I love making these because something as simple as the M&M colour can make these festive for any occasion. Obviously for Christmas, we’re using red and green M&M’s. Finishing touches for this is to sprinkle some Kosher salt on top to really bring out that chooclate flavour. Remember to do this right after the M&M’s, before the chocolate cools off. After these have cooled, place them in tiny gift bags, a small box, or use clear gift wrap to gift these. Oreo pops are also super easy to make. All you need are icing and food colouring, lollipop sticks, sprinkles, and of course Oreos! We bought premade icing and added food colouring before putting them into sandwich bags for piping – but you can totally make your own icing too. These are pretty straight forward to make, so I’m not going to go into detail. We made 3 different kinds. We made Christmas trees, wreaths, and holly. Make sure you let the icing dry before bagging these for gifts. Here’s another Oreo treat! This time we are making Oreo cookies! You will need some Oreos, some large marshmallows that are cut into quarters, icing, pretzels, chocolate chips, and lollipop sticks. First we dipped our Oreo into melted chocolate. If the surface isn’t smooth it’s super easy to fix by adding a dollop of chocolate on top of the Oreo and smoothing it out with a spoon. Then we added the marshmallows. Remember for these ones: these are large marshmallows cut into quarters. So we took two of those and used them for the snowman. Then we used mini chocolate chips for the eyes, and drew on a carrot nose and buttons with icing. We finished it off with pretzels for the arms. This last snack idea is super easy to make. We are making trail mix! All you need to do is add in your favourite snacks, and throw in some green and red M&M’s to make it festive. For ours we added in some craisins, and then we added in some yogurt covered raisins, some pretzels, some nuts, and then those red and green M&M’s. Thanks so much for watching, we hope that you guys enjoyed! And if you liked everything that we made today, make sure to remember to comment, like and subscribe to Bethany’s channel!
