Discussing Teamwork in a Job Interview by Michelle Tillis Lederman and About.comOn September 10, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
Hi I’m Michelle Tillis Letterman, the author of The 11 Laws of Likability. I’ve got a few quick tips for you today on teamwork. When employers are asking about teamwork, what are they trying to find out? They want to know how you work with others. What is your preferred working style? Where have you had conflicts and how have you dealt with them? They understand that everybody has workplace conflicts but how you handled them and how you’ve been able to work with that person going forward is far more telling. You’re often going to be asked about a bad teamwork experience. We’ve all had them and that’s okay! Share what you’ve learned about them and what you might do differently, but don’t start bashing somebody else on the team. If you’re still showing and feeling that anger, it’s a red flag for that employer. Thanks for watching! For more information, please go to about.com.
