“Compassionate” co-worker rememberedOn October 11, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
STAYING UP WITH WKYT. I’M KRISTEN KENNEDY. HE SERVED POWELL COUNTY FOR YEARS. THOSE WHO KNEW TIM ADDISON … SAY THEY’LL NEVER FORGET HIM. THE 24-YEAR-OLD DIED IN A CRASH YESTERDAY AFTERNOON ON CAMPTON ROAD. ADDISON WAS A 9- 1-1 DISPATCHER…A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER…AND ASSISTANT E-M-A DIRECTOR. TONIGHT…HIS CO- WORKERS AND FRIENDS TALKED TO W-K-Y-T’S GARRETT WYMER ABOUT THE MAN THEY CALLED ‘COMPASSIONATE’…A ND DEDICATED. GARRETT HAS OUR TOP STORY AT 11. COME MONDAY MORNING…THIS PLACE WON’T BE THE SAME WITHOUT TIM ADDISON. “He was just like a big kid. He was a consummate professional, but in this special way he just brightened up every room he ever walked into. I don’t think anyone would tell you any different about him.” THOSE WHO KNEW HIM SAY HE HAD A BIG SMILE AND AN EVEN BIGGER PERSONALITY. A MAN WHO DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO PUBLIC SERVICE…AND WAS GOOD AT IT. “Just speaks volumes to the type of person he was. Whatever he could do to help the public, that’s what Tim did.” ADDISON WAS NAMED DISPATCHER OF THE YEAR IN 2014. IT WAS AN AWARD HIS FRIENDS SAY HE WAS PROUD OF. “He changed a lot of lives. He saved a lot of lives. He really was an amazing gift to our community.” THEY SAY HE WAS A GOOD CO- WORKER…A GOOD FRIEND…A GOOD MAN. THE KIND OF PERSON WHO MADE YOU BETTER FOR KNOWING HIM. “He loved everyone in Powell County. He wanted to help everybody. That was Tim’s life mission. He loved his family, he loved his community. The world is going to be a sad place without Tim.” THOSE WHO KNEW HIM SAY ADDISON MADE A DIFFERENCE IN HIS SHORT LIFE. AND THAT WILL BE HIS LEGACY. “He was a young guy. He had a lot of life left in him. A lot more to give. I think we learned a lot from each other. What else can you ask for for a person.” IN POWELL COUNTY… GARRETT WYMER… W-K-Y-T. ADDISON’S VISITATION IS FROM FOUR TO EIGHT P-M TOMORROW AT HEARNE FUNERAL HOME IN STANTON. HIS FUNERAL IS SCHEDULED FOR NOON, MONDAY. YOU CAN MAKE DONATIONS IN HIS MEMORY TO SHRINERS HOSPITAL IN LEXINGTON …OR TO YOUTH HAVEN BIBLE CAMP IN BEATTYVILLE.
