Boombox TV #1 • ”UNITY, VISSTICKS & TEAMBUILDING” • Writerscamp 2018On December 2, 2019 by Raul Dinwiddie
Freezeland, Noardburgum. I’m here with Colin, Sendeep, Jeremy, Byron and Jesse. Is there more stuff? A lot. I’ve organized this writerscamp to grow as a team, to make an album and more cool stuff. Who’s going to get groceries?
– Gert Jan and me. It might sound strange, but everybody does a different kind of grocery shopping. One person might like fishsticks that cost €1,50, while someone else prefers an expensive brand. What’s for dinner? Potato wedges, fishsticks and green beans. Sounds good! My favorite thing til now has to be Sil, who… Sil is completely in his zone. We’re here with three beatmakers, one beatmaker/producer, who developed himself as a producer during this writerscamp. Two guys who film the whole thing. A designer who is the Boombox Media art director. And… to sum it up: a bunch of young creatives. I started to make beats when I was sixteen years old. It’s a pretty funny story. My mom grounded me because I crashed the scooter of one of my friends. After this my parents said enough is enough. Which led to me to search for something I could do in my spare time. I was grounded for a month. So I searched the internet for something to do and I found a video of a beatmaker who was making a beat and I thought “well…” I’ve always been interested in music so I thought “why not? Let’s give it a go”. I’ve downloaded Fruity Loops and I started making beats. Music… Music brings me to this place. Being together with all this talent, and creating something. Boombox is a passion for me with friends. And to make our dreams come true. What’s that dream? Making beats for a living.
