(inspiring music)>>One of the ways in which we foster cooperation between individuals is to have all of these individuals at the table at the same time. We have senior med-exec, we have individuals from nursing, pharmacy, and community, and hospital-based physicians all together at the same time. Of many things that has happened recently, I’m particularly proud of our… anti-coagulation-based pharmacy-driven protocols, both with Coumadin and Heparin, both very high-risk drugs. We started with limited compliance and we’ve reached almost 100% compliance with Coumadin and we expect the same with Heparin. I think if you’re gonna be able to collaborate, you have to be at the same
table at the same time. When you have controversial topics, which often occur in a committee setting, having the people right there at the table to immediately respond to… a controversial issue is very important. You can usually solve
a lot of problems by… attempting to resolve the issues right at the time of discussion.
